I miss my drying rack
Our dryer takes soooo long to dry clothes. I wish I could just throw them on the rack like I used to in Buffalo and be done with laundry tonight.

bath mat from old towels →
makecool: towels have a shelf life (believe it or not), and it is not as long as you think (note to self: time to get new towels). rather than add to the land fill why not create a bath mat from the old towels. seems fitting and somehow right that towels continue to serve a function after their first life is over. from finecraftguild.com Also could make a t shirt rug this way

Gratitude Journal Day 4 & 5
I keep forgetting to do this! I’m grateful for… 1. Friendly Strangers: I forgot my headphones and my watch at home so I had to walk home to get them and I ran across at least 5 different strangers and had little small talk conversations with them. There was an old man on his bike, a woman going for a walk, two older gentlemen walking a cute little pup named Woody. It made my walk...

Gratitude Journal Day 2 & 3
So last night I was feeling more sleepy than grateful so I went to bed instead of writing so today I’ll do 2 for the price of 1! That means 6 things! So here we go; I’m grateful for: 1. Postcards: They’re cheap and short and colorful and I sent out tons to all my friends. I always get little messages back and yesterday my friend called to say thank you and, luckily, I missed...

Gratitude Journal Day 1
As part of my lifestyle management rotation at Hilton Head Health I’m supposed to keep a gratitude journal for this week (and I hope to continue it (probably intermittently) after that). You’re supposed to write down at least 3 things that you are thankful for if not more. You can’t just rush through and scribble down 3 generic things though; you have to “sit in the...

Vaelntines Day
I don’t get why people get so up in arms about being single on V-day. You’re single the other 365 days of the year (leap year!) so why is this so much worse. I’m about to continue my 21 year streak of single-osity and I’m at peace with the hearts and the chocolate and the cherubs everywhere. Admittedly seeing a happy couple is still kind of a 50/50 crapshoot for how...

Restricted Calorie Diet and BMR
So as an intern I get housed, fed, and given a stipend on top of this wonderful experience and getting to live right on the beach. Needless to say, I find it very hard to complain when all this is given to me essentially for free. The stipend is small and the housing is shabby but I can deal with that. The issue is with the food; though delicious and filling, we’re on the same calorie...

Small Girls Problems
So, my friends who are *ahem* well endowed in the breast department are always complaining about how they have to go to specialty stores and get bras that are designed for extra support so they end up looking like grandma bras and they never come in fun colors or patterns or lace or anything. Well, ladies, the grass is not greener on this side of the fence! I’m a AA (it’s like...
